CliMAX Career Records
Statistics for the CliMAX from its first match in 2010 through two complete seasons are now published here (dowload file below). The top bowler and top batter base their lofty positions on performances in 2010 and neither graced the CliMAX pitches since then. Ian Young of Temple Grafton, produced a scathing though humorous review of his experience of CliMAX, yet remains the most effective bowler ever saving 111,212 from his one wicket. James Harber is the only batter to achieve the elusive MegaMAX sequence and his unbeaten partnership with Jack Thorne for the Sharks at the Hatherley and Reddings CliMAX-Sixes ensures top spot in the career batting statistics. Harber’s other unbeaten partnerships (1,112,282) during the CliMAX-Sixes takes him above Thorne who made 1,111,142.
The Face of CliMAX Josh Collins (2674) heads a pack of eight other bowlers who have saved more than 1000 runs and also is the leading wicket taker with 15. Flighty Keyte has an impressive 13 like Brad Wrench and Ready Freddie Rawlings 12. One hundred and five bowlers have taken 220 wickets between them in CliMAX.
The CliMAX-Kid Nat Gregory has been chasing James Harber’s record and twice scored 100,000 from one shot. His aggregate is now 240,822 from 25 matches played and he has contributed 137,936 in unbeaten partnerships. Dan Cross, involved in one of these is fourth in the batting with 122,484 in unbeaten partnerships. Eleven batters have scored more than 1000 CliMAX runs.
One hundred and fifteen (115) players have played CliMAX by the end of 2011 season, more than 1,300,000 runs have been scored and CliMAX keeps on delivering excitement to the last scheduled ball. Bring on 2013 and season three!

CliMAX statistics 2011
There were only nine CliMATCHES in 2011, but the quality of competition was improved on our first year (2010). Nat Gregory, came by the name CliMAX-Kid last winter, yet showed youthfulness was no barrier to ongoing success in CliMAX. He topped the batting statistics with 12,733 runs at an average of 6,366.5 runs per completed innings, but most importantly he was involved in 12,657 runs in unbeaten partnerships and remember it is usually only those unbeaten partnerships which contribute to winning CliMATCHES. Hard Hitting Haydn Jones enjoyed one such massive partnership with CliMAX-Kid and so sits second in the batting CliMAVERAGES. The CliMAX-Kid struck an incredible 22 MAXima in the season from only 70 balls faced, but Fred Rawlings eye catching 17 MAXima helped him to third spot. Along with Ready-Freddie, George HairSTyler, James Hicks-a-Lix and Ben Pigott all made it beyond 1000 runs in unbeaten partnerships.
CliMAX players contributed 95 MAXima from just over 800 deliveries in 2011 and this was only part of the thrill provided by the CliMAX format; More than 18,500 runs were scored during the 9 games, but 48 wickets fell cutting the final scores down to 15,517 runs in 18 innings. The Face of CliMAX, Josh Mamba Collins took four wickets and feat only matches by Josh Flighty Keytey. The Face leads the bowling analysis in 2011 having saved 1204 runs. Will Noble achieved almost as much with 1168 runs saved and showed his class by also keeping runs per ball below one (0.9). This would seem an almost impossible achievement bearing in mind the average runs per ball in 2011 was 20.6.

CliMAX statistics 2010
We may have reached the end of the first CliMAX season and its time to report on a few interesting statistics (if you like that sort of thing!). We have recorded that 95 cricketers have experienced CliMAX in 32 matches, some CliMAX-Pairs, many CliMAX-Sixes and some Classic-CliMAX. Nat Gregory, Tom Clarkson and Joshes Keyte and Collins have all played more than 17 games. James Harber has more runs than anyone with 1,112,312 and was involved in the most incredible unbeaten partnership with Jack Thorne off 1,111,142. Harber hit 15 MAXimums in one CliMAX-Sixes tournament, which equals Mongoose Collins record for the season, but is surpassed by Duckie Clarkson with 19, but is way behind Nat Gregory whose 63 come from only 220 balls. Gregory must be pleased with his batting average of 28,511.1, but his impressive strike rate of 1036.8 runs per ball is not a touch on Harber who achieved 24,180.7 runs per ball. Gregory's aggregate was 228,089.
Despite an amazing over against Temple Grafton which secured four wickets for 5 runs by Liam Cullen, Ian Young from Grafton was able to become the top CliMAX bowler of the year by saving his team 111,212 in taking just one wicket. Brad Wrench swung things in his own favour to lead the wicket taking column with 12 and that should keep Fred Rawlings (11 ) quiet and Mongoose Collins (11) prepared to work hard during the winter to go one step further next season. Duckie Clarkson also reached double figures with 10 wickets.
To help you have a perspective of CliMAX, which is so different to 'old fashioned' cricket statistics: In 32 games 2,487,164 runs have been scored of which 267 were MAXimums from 2823 deliveries. More than 172 wickets fell (sorry, I didn't count the runouts) giving around 500 runs per ball and 7500 runs per wicket.
What very large numbers will we report on in 2011 - and will you be featuring at the top of the averages?

CliMAX statistics to end of June 2010
One or two missing scoresheets have been found and added to the statistics presented to the end of June. Josh Mongoose Collins is the most experienced CliMAXer of all time with 13 games. Nat Gregory has taken his run tally over 3000, but Duckie Clarkson is not far behind with 2312. However it is Clarkson's real value that he has been involved in unbeaten partnerships to the tune of 2284 runs, with Surman of Long Compton (2221) and James Hicks third in this category with 1753. Nat Gregory has scored 3 times as many MAXimums as any other batsman with 32, but Will Green 76.1 runs per ball is the fastest.
The Mongoose leads the way as a bowler with 8 wickets though Fred Rawlings and Tom Clarkson have 6 a piece. Jack Sexton has saved 1439 runs with his 4 wickets and Lee Boswell of Long Compton is next most effective bowler saving 1254 runs with his 2 wickets. Discover how your favourite player has performed in CliMAX by downloading the file below.

CliMAX statistics
The first CliMAX statistics have been generated and they make interesting reading:
Josh 'Mongoose' Collins has played more games than anyone (10) and this is probably because he helped Nick's Ebrington Saturday team out on President's Day when he was originally picked for Tom's Ebrington Sunday team. Let's see how valuable that experience of the CliMAX format is in future games.
Nat Gregory has score most runs - 1533 and those from only 69 balls faced. Will Green with 1142 and Mat Spencer 1185 have also reached four figures. More important is that James Hicks has accumulated 1493 in unbeaten partnerships and tops a list of Nat Gregory 1431, Matt Spencer 1321, and Ollie Hassel 1120.
Nat Gregory is well out in the lead with 17 MAXimums followed at a distance by Mike Cupper with 7. But Matt Spencer tops the average runs per completed innings with 1185, followed by Will Green with 571 and Nat Gregoy 383.3. Overall 7.53 runs have been scored per ball in CliMAX so far, but Will Green scores at 76.1 per ball and Matt Spencer 28.2.
During CliMAX cricket so far 51 wickets have been taken by bowlers at 118.2 runs per wicket. Tom Clarkson and Fred Rawlings are leading wicket takers with 5 each. but Jack Sexton has saved most runs with his 2 wickets (1431). Next most valuable bowler is Josh Keyte who has saved 293 runs with his 3 wickets.
Apologies for a few missing details, particularly from Ben's team in President's day as the scorers did not know the names of the players. There may have been some cases of mistaken identity and therefore the statistics file and comments above should not be taken too seriously, but are presented merely to give a taste of how CliMAX will be reported and analysed in future. There is of course great scope for scorers to be trained and statisticians involved from an early stage. Interested ? Contact us.
